SALUS Smart Home thanks to SR600 smart relay and OneTouch rule creation feature enables you to control and automate the functions of the boiler room, the heat source and all the electrical appliances in the room.
The SR600 Smart Relay has the ability to control any appliance powered by electricity with a maximum load of 16A and using a relay can control even larger appliances.
Universal Gateway UGE 600 - Required in all Smart Home applications
The heart of SALUS Smart Home system is the UGE 600 Universal Gateway. The central gateway first connects wired (or wireless) to the internet & then communicates with all SALUS Smart Home devices via the Zigbee wireless protocol.
All Smart Home applications require the installation of the UGE 600 and is the first device we connect to the SALUS Smart Home application.
Control and Automation of the boiler room appliances with Salus Smart Home
One of the most common applications of SALUS SMART HOME is the control and automation of boiler room functions.
With SR600 Smart Relays we can control the circulator & the electrovalves of the heating installation. We can, for example, eliminate the autonomy panels by installing the SR600 Smart Relays in the electrobalance and in parallel installing SALUS Smart Thermostats in the rooms. SALUS with One Touch rules makes creating automation a very easy task.
For example, in an installation with an oil boiler in a three-storey building with an electrovalve on each floor so that there is autonomy per floor, we can install:
- 3 smart thermostats (1 per floor, let's call them Ground floor thermostat, 1st floor thermostat, 2nd floor thermostat).
- 3 smart relays in the power supply of each floor.
- 1 smart relay on the oil boiler.
Then, we create the following rules to automate the operation of the system:
- When the ground floor thermostat does not request heating, close the ground floor's electrovalve.
- When the thermostat on the ground floor requests heating, open the ground floor's electrovalve.
- When the thermostat on the 1st floor thermostat requests heating, open the 1st floor's electrovalve.
- When the 1st floor thermostat does not request heating, close the 1st floor's electrovalve.
- When the thermostat on the 2nd floor thermostat requests heating, open the 2nd floor's electrovalve.
- When the 2nd floor thermostat does not request heating, close the 2nd floor's electrovalve.
And in addition, to control the oil boiler, we create the following 2 rules:
- When even a single electrovalve is turned on, turn on the oil boiler.
- When all 3 electrovalves are closed, the oil boiler should also be closed.
With the above 8 rules, we managed to automate the system, without requiring the work of an electrician-automationist.
Control & Monitor Heat Source (Boiler, Heat Pump, Electric Heating etc.) with Salus Smart Home
SR600 Smart Relay has the ability to control any powered device with a maximum load of 16A (and using a relay can control even larger devices.
By installing it on the heat source supply we can automate its operation. See related example here.
Some of the basic functions we can implement with the SR600 Smart Relay:
- Control (ON/OFF) of the Heat Pump - by connecting the SR600 Smart Relay to the cold contact (ON/OFF) of the Heat Pump.
- Control of Heat Pump operation type (HEAT/COOL) - by connecting the SR600 Smart Relay to the cold contact (HEAT/COOL) of the Heat Pump (if the Heat Pump has such a contact)
- Heat Pump/Cooler Fault Monitoring - by connecting the SR600 Smart Relay to the cold contact (ALARM) of the Heat Pump or Cooler (if it has such a cold contact). Then we can create a rule so that SALUS SMART HOME will inform us by SMS and email when an error (ALARM) occurs in the Heat Pump or Cooler.
- Control (ON/OFF) of the Oil Boiler - by connecting the SR600 Smart Relay to the oil boiler's electrical supply.
- Control (ON/OFF) of the Wall mounted LPG/Natural Gas Boiler - by connecting the SR600 Smart Relay to the electrical supply of the Wall mounted LPG/Natural Gas Boiler.
- Control (ON/OFF) of the electric heating - by connecting the SR600 Smart Relay to the electric supply of the electric heating.
Electrical Appliance Control with SALUS SMART HOME
SR600 Smart Relay has the ability to control and program the operation of any device powered by electricity with a maximum load of 16A (and using a relay can control even larger devices).
Similarly, SPE600 Smart Plug is installed as an extension of the standard plug and gives intelligent control over any device connected to the plug. In addition, it has the ability to measure the consumption of the device in particular, as long as the power of the device in particular is declared in the SALUS application.
With the two devices mentioned above we can control the electrical appliances in the building, for example:
- Control of the electric heater - with installation of SR600 Smart Relay in the safety of the electric heater in the electrical panel.
- Control on automatic watering - without the need for a timer or special device for automatic watering, since we can schedule it through the Smart Relay.
- Control of household appliances (oven, refrigerator, washing machine, etc.).
The above function is ideal for rental accommodation, where the owner is required to control the house and prevent overconsumption due to appliances left on when they shouldn't be.
Then, with the ability to program the functions that Salus Smart Home gives us, we can create routines such as, for example, cutting off the supply to appliances when we are away from home, etc.
