The owners of the recently completed three-storey apartment building had the desire to create a model home, in terms of high architecture as well as energy consumption, setting the standards so high that there are only a few professionals who could achieve this.
The highly experienced team of engineers of ANDRIANOS collaborated from the first stage of the design of the building with the architectural firm A&K Architects, with the architect Mr. Alexandros Socrates Kraniotis in overall supervision. This collaboration resulted in a perfect balance between the architectural and energy design of the building and the interior design.
This skilled and experienced team, as well as ANDRIANOS with its extensive and trusted network of partners, managed to create a building with a modern architecture, which is ranked as nZEB/near zero energy consumption, based on its primary energy consumption levels. At the same time, it was completed within the planned timelines and initial budget.

Solar Thermal
The Solar Thermal System consists of three vertical AND-SOLAR PREMIUM solar collectors of 2.72 m2 each, which create a solar field of 8.16 m2 to fully cover the needs of the three-storey residence for production (DHW) and at the same time to support heating.
AND-SOLAR PREMIUM collector has an average efficiency rate of ηcol=67%, according to EN 12975, which ranks it as one of the most efficient flat plate collectors made in Greece and one of the top collectors worldwide (TOP 5).

For the collection of the hot water created in the solar collectors and the supply of the system with domestic hot water and heating, the AND-SOLAR FS1 500lt solar tank of energy class A was installed. AND-SOLAR solar tanks are manufactured in Germany with the highest quality standards and are particularly suitable for heating domestic hot water without legionella.

The solar thermal system is completed by the Tacosol CIRC ZR 4-16 lt/min double pipe solar station of Taconova Switzerland, which is the "heart" of the system, since it is responsible for the proper operation and synchronization of all individual parts. As well as the Deltasol SLT solar controller from Resol Germany, which is contained in the solar station and is responsible for setting and recording the important parameters of the solar system.
Heat pump ARISTON NIMBUS POCKET
The second part of the hybrid system includes the Ariston Nimbus Pocket 110MNET Heat Pump with hydraulic module, which automatically takes over the heating of the water on the few days during the year when there is no sunshine or when the energy produced by the solar panels is not sufficient.
ARISTON is recognized as the global specialist in water heating and heating products, offering heat pumps such as the Nimbus Pocket which are Energy Class A+++, have Quiet Mode to minimize noise during tion and COP up to 5.1, for maximum efficiency with minimum energy consumption.

Fan Coil Ceiling hidden type CARRIER 42ND with linear outlets for the transmission of thermal energy in the room
Fan coils are perfectly combined and operate with heat pumps and solar thermal systems, while they enable heating and cooling of the space with the same system. A total of 5 CARRIER 42ND Ceiling Fan Coils were installed on the three floors and combined with the aesthetically leading linear blinds for a seamless effect in the new building's spaces.

Mechanical Heat Recovery Ventilation in all rooms of the building
One of the parameters set by the owners as a priority was to ensure the quality of the indoor air with a modern ventilation system, which will not impose additional channels on the aesthetics of the space.
Independent mechanical heat recovery ventilation systems are the perfect solution, so they were chosen to fully cover the ventilation and aeration needs of the building. A total of 9 Assolo 91-1.0 Recovery Air-to-Air Exchangers with Assolo 91-1.0 were installed, which almost eliminate ventilation losses in heating/cooling up to 93% while creating a hygienic atmosphere free of pollutants and germs, without releasing heat (energy) into the environment.

Remote control of heating/cooling/hot water systems and automation with SALUS Smart Home systems
Another important role in the low energy consumption of this building belongs to the control and automation devices of the Heating / Cooling / Domestic Hot Water (DHW) production installation. An absolute thermal comfort for the residents with SALUS Smart Home system placed in the building is achieved, while at the same time, thanks to the continuous and efficient operation of the electromechanical systems, real Energy Saving in the consumption of the building is ensured.
In detail, the following were installed:
- Smart Thermostats for Fan Coils - Salus FC600, for complete control of heating & cooling of the rooms. One FC600 was installed in each room, for complete autonomy of the rooms & achieving total thermal comfort.
- Smart Relays - Salus SR600, to control both the Heat Pump & Circulator, with control over both opening/closing and automatic switching between heating/cooling modes.
- Temperature Sensors - Salus PS600 in the Solar Tank of the system to monitor the temperature of domestic hot water, in order to guarantee constant hot water in the building.
- Smart Electric Lighting Controllers - Salus RS600, for remote closing/opening of internal and external lighting.
- Smoke detectors - Salus SD600, for real-time smoke detection, notification with sound and flash alarm and free SMS and/or email sending in case of smoke detection.

The " building envelope " and the energy efficient frames of the building
A suitable choice of thermal insulation and energy-efficient frames is one of the priorities that must be set in a modern building in order to reduce or even eliminate energy losses and keep the precious heat from renewable energy sources indoors for a longer period of time. In the new construction building, ANDRIANOS partners installed a thermal insulation system with 8 cm EPS expanded polystyrene, insulation on the roof and thermally insulated aluminium frames with energy efficient glazing with a conductivity of 1.6 U (W/m2.K), in order to ensure the low energy consumption of the building.
