It is a fact that hybrid systems are nowadays one of the best & most modern solutions to meet the thermal needs of a home, as the individual subsystems complement one another and improve the energy efficiency. Only very few know that even existing, old and modern facilities, can be upgraded to hybrid systems, provided there is an experienced team of engineers with the holistic know-how required by those installations.
This project is a case in point: A Solar Thermal System, consisting of a boiler of 1000-liter capacity, six solar panels & 9kw electrical resistances, powered the underfloor heating system in a three-storey building in Kalamata. The owners, seaching for even greater performance, addressed to expirtise team of ANDRIANOS to improve the existing system.
Engineers of ANDRIANOS studied the operation and efficiency of the existing system and proposed two interventions with a strong impact.
The first operation was the combination of TiSUN Solar Thermal system with a modern CARRIER AWH Heat Pump with rated power of 6kw. So even on days with less sunshine, where the solar system does not fully cover the thermal needs of the home, the Heat Pump can provide the necessary additional heat energy.

The second operation was the addition of a complete compensation system of SALUS. The function of the compensation is to properly adjust the water flow temperature of the underfloor heating system, depending on the outside temperature. Laboratory measurements confirm up to 35% savings with the installation of compensation, provided it is properly adjusted.

Για αυτό το λόγο, την ρύθμιση του συστήματος αντιστάθμισης, όπως και την εγκατάσταση της Αντλία θερμότητας, ανέλαβε και εκτέλεσε επιτυχώς η Ειδική Ομάδα Τεχνικών Εξοικονόμησης Ενέργειας. Οι τεχνικοί της Ε.Ο.Τ. -ΕΞ.Ε. παραμετροποίησαν όλα τα επιμέρους συστήματα (ηλιοθερμικό, αντλία θερμότητας, ενδοδαπέδια, αντιστάθμιση) και ρύθμισαν το σύνολο των αυτοματισμών για την εύρυθμη λειτουργία όλων των υποσυστημάτων.
For this reason, the adjustment of the compensation system, as well as the installation of the Heat Pump, was undertaken and performed successfully by the Energy Saving Tech Force (greek: Ε.Ο.Τ. -ΕΞ.Ε). The expertise technicians configured all the individual systems (solar thermal, heat pump, underfloor,compensation) and adjusted all the automations for the proper operation of all subsystems.

Both the owners of the three-storey building and the team of ANDRIANOS and Ε.Ο.Τ. - ΕΞ.Ε. are proud of this installation, since combining two different Renewable Energy Systems, the Solar Thermal System with the Heat Pump has achieved even higher thermal comfort and maximum savings.
