Over the last few years Kalamata has experienced a tremendous tourist development, resulting in the creation of new hotels and the reconstruction of older ones. Hotel Plaza recently changed owners and the new ones chose ANDRIANOS to fully energy upgrade the hotel.
Hotel Plaza is located on the beach of Kalamata, operating all year long and has capacity of 20 rooms. As in all hotels, the basic needs of the electromechanical installation are the constant supply of domestic hot water as well as the space air conditioning, with cooling in summer and heating in winter.
The state of the hotel before the intervention of ANDRIANOS
Initially, engineers of ANDRIANOS visited the hotel PLAZA and analyzed the state of the building and the electromechanical equipment, which had been decommissioned about a year, until the new owners took over. The heating of domestic hot water was done with low performance solar collectors, which had been aged and caused problems, both with their low efficiency and with constant damages and leakage. The hotel building was built in the 1970s, so had a central air-conditioning system with an old-fashioned chiller, which was highly energy consuming, and for the space heating there was an oversized oil boiler. Finally, the control of the air-conditioning (heating-cooling) system was done by some old analog thermostats that were no longer performing their job.
ANDRIANOS solutions for energy upgrading and the new equipment
After studying the existing situation, it was selected for heating of domestic hot water the installation of a new solar thermal system, with 8 solar collectors AND-SOLAR PREMIUM of ANDRIANOS range of products, with a high efficiency and aperture area of 2.72m2 each one.The solar thermal system is complemented by four ARISTON Nuos Plus 250 Twin Sys Heat Pumps with built-in boilers that retain the hot water, which is heated in solar collectors, while being responsible for supplying hot water during hours without sunshine. In addition, a RESOL solar controller was installed for monitoring and configuration online.

For recirculation of hot water, a high-end smart circulator, Wilo Stratos Maxo (Smart-Pump) has been installed, with which its achieved extra energy savings on the establishment.
The ideal solution to replace the old heating and cooling system, was two new CARRIER Aqua Snap Plus 30RQ-033CH, Energy Class A + Heat Pumps, installed in a master-slave arrangement to produce space heating and cooling for hotel with high efficiency levels.

Finally, for the complete and cost-effective control of the entire air conditioning system, SALUS FC600 thermostats, which are part of the Salus IT600 Smart Home System, were installed. The IT600 is an ideal solution for smart control of all devices, as it enables central & remote control via smartphone, tablet and PC. In addition, all the necessary IT600 devices such as UGE600 central gate, SR600 smart relays and ECM600 power meters to record energy consumption, were installed to fully automate the functions of the system. Installation work was carried out by Energy Saving Tech Force (Greek: ΕΟΤ-ΕΞΕ) of ANDRIANOS, with the necessary collaboration of the Tech & Smart Home specialist of the company.

The state of the hotel today
